Part One: Play Therapy Using A Sandtray For All Ages
Workshop Objectives: Developing and enhancing play therapy skills using sand and toys as the play modality. This is a hands-on workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to briefly review history of sandtray/play, identify textures for play, engage in floor games, create "soul stories", and discuss direct and non-direct methodology.

Part Two: Play Therapy Using A Sandtray For All Ages
Workshop Objectives: From 745-10 AM participants will take a field trip to Child & Family Counseling LLC to review how to empower clients as well as set limits in a sandtray room. Participants will learn how to create a sandtray room. Learn how to write session notes, create treatment plans, and how to use both dry and wet sandtrays.
Brain-Based Play Therapy
Workshop Objectives: Our understanding of the brain has grown exponentially over the last decade. This interactive workshop will explore ways that professionals can integrate the growing awareness of brain functioning with play therapy to help optimize children's functioning at home and school. Basic brain information will be shared, and then specific information and play therapy techniques related to sensory processing, mindfulness & "mentalizing", trauma and attachment work, and Brain Gym activities will be shared. The presentation will draw from the research and work of Dr.'s Bruce Perry, Dan Siegal, Patricia Kuhl and others. Join Michael for a brain awakening and play filled time.
Play Therapy Assessments
Workshop Objectives: This is an experiential play therapy workshop. Participants will review basic assessment skills using two tools: Build-A-House and Family Puppet Interview. Both play therapy assessment techniques can be used with a client in biological, foster, and/or guardian settings. Videotape demonstrations of both techniques will be presented
