Welcome to the Association for Play Therapy!

Join APT to advance play therapy, the means by which licensed mental health professionals use developmentally appropriate play therapy theories and techniques to better communicate with and help clients, particularly children!

News

Promote your practices.  Is your professional information accurate and complete in our online Find Play Therapists Directory, our most visited website page by colleagues and referrals? Because these fields will soon be added, email your website URLs and top three credentials to Diane Leon by Nov. 30. Also display the APT Logo as a link to the APT website. Together let's promote play therapy, APT, and your practices!

Director Selection Method. The board of directors asks Professional members to weigh in on an alternative method of selecting directors with demonstrated play therapy and organizational knowledge, experience, and performance. Complete online Director Selection Survey by Nov. 28.

Support Play Therapy Research. APT and its Foundation wish to fund two pilot studies utilizing randomized control groups to better establish play therapy as an evidence-based (or "proven") modality. To generate the funding, please make a tax-deductibe contribution to the Foundation today or add a contribution when renewing your annual APT dues!

Thanks for Cell Phones. A sincere thanks to the 59 conference attendees who donated their used "cell phones for soldiers" by Oct. 31. The phones will be refurbished, resold, and the proceeds converted into calling cards for our overseas soldiers.

APT Calendar. Consult Mark Your Calendar! (left column) for program opportunities and the deadlines by which you may participate in them to add value to your APT membership!
