I have two Master's Degrees (Child Development and Psychology) and am a Registered Play Therapist. I worked with toddlers/preschoolers or their teachers and parents for 20 years, taught college level Early Childhood Special Education and Child Development for 10 years, and counseled children and families for ten years. I have specialized training and extensive experience in therapies focusing on attachment disorders, early childhood trauma, supporting children who are having difficulty progressing through a developmental stage due to family/school stress and strengthening the parent-child relationship. In addition, I work with gifted and twice-exceptional children.
My life-long work with children and their parents and teachers has provided me with the skills and knowledge for counseling children and their families as they cope with stress related to divorce, separation anxiety, adoption, foster placement, school issues, and peer relations. I also work with children who have experienced trauma in the form of loss of a loved one, abuse, neglect and domestic violence, as well as children who face challenges in the form of Autism and developmental delay. With young children I prefer to work within the context of the family and relevant agencies.
