Education/Experience
I have been a therapist since 1989 and my identified specialty is with children and families. My primary modalities are play therapy, expressive arts therapy and family therapy. Areas of specific expertise include pre-school play therapy, divorce/legal issues, and family reunification, among others.

Before beginning my private practice in late 2016, I worked as a contract therapist for over 27 years for a mental health center.

I am teaching adjunct at two local universities.

I received by BS in Psychology and Social Work from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN in 1987. I then received my MS in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1989.

More Information
I love supervising about play therapy for students and those working towards licensure or to obtain their RPT or RPT-S.

I am a presenter/trainer on issues relating to play therapy and expressive arts therapy. I am able to adapt trainings as needed by an organization/group, etc. As President of the TN branch of APT, I present on foundational play therapy called Getting Started in Play Therapy I and II. I have added Getting Started in Sand Tray Therapy and Getting Started Integrating Expressive Arts in Play Therapy to complete our foundational training with 18 hours total.
