Laurie has twenty years of experience providing therapy to children, teens, and families mostly in private practice. She is a certified EMDR therapist, an RPT-S and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She currently supervises students studying play and family therapy in a post graduate program at the Family and Play Therapy Center in Philadelphia. She has continued her own significant post graduate training in Contextual Family Therapy, which is very helpful in addition to play therapy. Laurie has been supervising new play therapists since 2000 and has taught many workshops on play therapy in Maine and New Hampshire.
I volunteer for Friends of Acadia, a nonprofit program that supports the beauty of Acadia National Park
I did my post master's training in play therapy with Dottie HIggins Klein in Philadelphia and have stayed connected to her training center studying through online classes for many years. I use her model of Mindfulness Based Play Family Therapy in my work. I am in my third year of providing online supervision to students taking a two year course with her. Before that I provided supervision to new play therapists in New Hampshire from 2005-2012. I have enjoyed teaching play therapy workshops at Sweetser Institute and at Plymouth State University.
