Member of National Association of Social Workers (NASW) since 2007
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia with almost 20 years experience working with youth and families in a wide variety of settings across the treatment continuum (outpatient, home-based, residential, community outreach and case management, etc.). I earned my Master Degree in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University and my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Mary Washington. My passion is working directly with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing various challenges.
I use a tailored/individualized, eclectic approach to include: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), expressive/play therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other modalities to address various issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, giftedness (GT/AAP), parenting, parent-child communication, women's/men's issues, relationship issues, grief/loss, stress, etc. I use a compassionate, creative, strength-based, and client-focused approach to therapy. I see myself as a therapeutic partner, helping youth and adults tap into their own resiliency to get through tough times. Treatment is unique for every client and always confidential.
