Research & Practice
Play Therapy Best Practices
APT endorses play therapy best practices and offers a paper on touch to assist play therapy practitioners, supervisors, and instructors. Approved Providers and Registered Play Therapists (RPT) and Supervisors (RPT-S) must attest that they are familiar with the former but both documents of critically important to everyone!
APT encourages play therapy research that demonstrates the value and effectiveness of play and play therapy, increases play therapy knowledge or improves play therapy techniques, and supports evidence-based play therapy practices.
Play therapists use a wide assortment of developmentally-appropriate toys, games, and other products in their playrooms. In addition, they seek play therapy training for both licensing and play therapy credentialing purposes. You are invited to promote your play therapy products and services to them via the APT media below. For assistance, contact Stephanie Carter, (559) 298-3400 ext 3.
