In this section, the Association for Play Therapy (APT) invites mental health professionals and students to become members and explains member benefits, categories, and dues.

The term of membership is for 12 months and renewable in the applicable anniversary month. There are three (3) categories of membership, the full terms and conditions of which are described in the APT Bylaws.

• Professional - individual mental health professional within the US
• International - individual mental health professional outside of the US
• Affiliate - individual full-time graduate student or other non-mental health professional

Member benefits might be summarized as follows:

• International Journal of Play Therapy? - complimentary subscription
• Play Therapy? magazine - complimentary subscription
• APT Flash - complimentary e-news bulletins
• Program fee discounts - reduced conference registration, credentialing, and other fees
• Participation in Governance and Programs

APT observes a dual membership system; that is, if residing within the territory of a chartered branch, applicant must be a member of both APT and that charter branch.

• $95 - Professional ($80 APT + $15 Branch, a few branches vary)
• $70 - International (APT only)
• $50 - Affiliate (US) ($45 APT + $5 Branch, a few branches vary)
• $45 - Affiliate (non-US) (APT only)
