Annual Conference

2010 APT Conference

Chair Ted Borkan and the Conference Program Committee are now evaluating the 150-plus proposals received by our Nov. 30 submission deadline.

Because attendance declines after attending five conferences, we will particularly focus upon:
1. Proposals offering "new, unique, or cutting edge" topics that benefit both new and veteran attendees.
2. Speakers who are well-organized and can pace their presentations; exhibit interest, energy, advance planning, and do not "walk thru their presentations"; address their advertised topics; and avoid selling or promoting their products and services.

If you have questions or need assistance, contact Conference Coordinator Kathy Lebby, (559) 294-2128 x5.

Conference sites are geographically rotated between eastern, central, and western sections and awarded to those cities that offer reasonable air access and fares and hotel lodging rates.

Lodging at the conference headquarters hotel in the APT room block is important. If our lodging guarantee is satisfied, then meeting facilities and other amenities are typically offered to us without charge or at minimal rates. However, if the guarantee is not filled, then we are assessed fees and must increase registration fees the following year to cover costs.

Registration fees are established at or below the average rates assessed for conferences sponsored by other mental health organizations.
