The Association for Play Therapy (APT) offers the following programs and resources for professionals seeking education and training specific to play therapy. Whether you are pursuing an APT credential or learning more about the therapeutic powers of play, utilize the following types of APT approved education sources to locate a suitable format delivery method.

 

Types of Approved Education & Training

APT E-Learning Center offers non-contact hours. This online portal includes recorded workshops, audio and book offerings for mental health professionals interested in clinical play therapy education.  

Training Directory of Play Therapy Workshops is an active listing of CE trainings offered by APT Approved Providers including APT State Branches. Search by keywords, location, and format delivery (Contact | Live Webinars | Non-Contact) for events near you or at a distance.

Approved Centers of Play Therapy Education are designated to generate more play therapy research, peer-reviewed publications, instruction, supervisor training, and supervised clinical experiences at universities. These Centers of Play Therapy offer graduate courses and post-graduate CE options.

Universities Offering Play Therapy is an active listing of universities offering play therapy programs at graduate and post-graduate level. Graduate credit on a transcript, irrespective of delivery format, is eligible for contact hours towards play therapy instruction.

Approved Providers of Continuing Education are individuals or organizations that have been approved to offer CE specific to play therapy. Search the active listing of CE providers near you and visit their websites for detailed information on the CE programs and services they offer.

Additionally, reach out to local Chartered Branches for training opportunities in your state or region.
